Welcome to Pilates with Louise,

I’m a mum of three boys in my mid forties, and I have a true passion for Pilates matwork.

I have created this website in order to make it easier for my clients to access On Demand content anytime, anywhere, as well as enjoy my Live Class offering.

I love teaching Pilates, helping people feel stronger, stretched, and more in control of their amazing bodies and minds.

1 - Make sure your float is fully inflated - the less air, the more unstable the surface; blow it up, and find your hands right in the centre to help with stability

2 - I liked my feet hooked around the side of the pool; surely offers some traction!?

3 - Water level (this is likely to be out of your control); the level needs to be as high as possible, the bigger the difference to the side of the pool, the harder it will be! Maybe first thing in the morning is best!?

✨ 3.5 glorious days with @k8tyerose and @jpaine80 in Sitges… I absolutely loved spending time with you both there and I’m thrilled you loved Sitges just as much as we do 💜

✨ Endless chats, delicious food, people watching, iced drinks, beach, pool, day out in Barcelona (acknowledgement for getting on the train and subway 🙌).

✨Full on appreciation for you both, always space for each of us to be our whole selves, with acceptance and nurturing… truly blessed to have you.

🥗 More appreciation for coming across @honestgreens in Barcelona. Currently only in Spain and Portugal, but if you ever come across one, do eat there!! Just incredible real food 🙌 Who has eaten there?

✨ Who is up for this band challenge!? I have a folded resistance band here, but you can use a loop band, a Pilates pole or even a folded dressing gown belt if that’s what you have to hand 😁

I learn from Enzo everyday. I thought I wouldn’t ever be able to have a dog, due to allergies, so I’m extra grateful for my bestie 🥹

Ps - he isn’t rolling in anything at the end, he likes to roll around when he is happy / feels nice, does anyone else’s dog do this?

🙌 How did we feel about this ball placement for the teasers!? (Watch to the end). I LOVED adding in spinal extension / chest opening - I made sure to offer the hands for support first, and then option to come all the way up.

✨ Last Friday we jumped on a 7am flight from Luton to Barcelona to join our friends in Cabrils, they organised the most incredible weekend with an amazing group of people to celebrate and share in the joy of their 6 month old twin boys.

✨ We arrived in terrible weather, but it cleared up just in time for a paella lunch in their garden, followed by a hike (where a new acquaintance insisted on trying a roll up on the floor when chatting deeply about Pilates 🤣😅). That evening we were offered wine tasting back at the house (I was there for the snack and socials).

💛 The following day (after a leasurely breakfast and reading by the pool) we attended a magical naming ceremony including a reception, lunch and dancing at a breathtaking venue.

✨ Vic and I were honoured to be asked to be Guide Parents to Adrian and Alexander… along with another couple 🥹 We read a poem and a reading, it was very special.

The weekend continued that evening with the fiesta major and lunch the following day (we had flown home to get back to the boys).

✨ Yup I struggled with that balance work (especially on the second side) - so important to practice our balance as we age (and always!). Welcome the wobbles, your muscles are working hard to stabilise - have fun with it 😊

By the way, I’m off the mat as it’s easier! The ground is a more stable surface.. if you want more of a challenge, stay on the mat - Pilates mats are thick so have a bit of “give” so will challenge stability x

✨ Loved the “traveling cat / cow” (second exercise here) I used the cue of pushing a marble through the centre of your mat with your nose, and brining it back on the return - we had a few who lost their marbles apparently 🤣🤣

Spring is springing and I’m here for it 💚

I posted this the other day on stories and thought it was worth upgrading as it brought much joy, not just to me ☺️

These small pockets of joy are of huge value, take them when you can.

Within seconds of my last gulp, I was back to mum duty, housework, small business admin (I wouldn’t have it any other way), but taking these moments, supports me in all the things. We are important too 💓

(And yes, I resisted the urge to clean the table first, go me).

The audio of the birds, the London trains and the pooch footsteps 🥹🥹

✨ We loved this prop combo last week!! Using small equipment really helps to shift the focus.

💜 Take the roll up for example (at the start here). Pulling wide on the band around the feet helps to connect with the outer glutes and thighs as well keep the feet planted, and having the ball between the hands helps to highlight the chest and arms… then, switching them round, the ball helps to recruit inner thighs, pelvic floor and band around wrists adds on shoulders and back - Magic ✨

✨ Everyone just LOVED the double prop teaser sequence, right!? 👀 (options were given ☺️)

✨Functional stability & mobility - last week we went prop free and moved with control to condition our whole bodies and release tension. I loved the focus on neck strength in our ab work. Watch to the end for the best boy!! 🥹

🎿 So many lovely chats in my DMs about family skiing when I posted on my stories after half term.. lots of love for the footage and it spread joy apparently, thank you! I’m so pleased. But let me tell you about the journey to getting here ⬇️

This holiday marked 10 years of family ski trips, I’m very very aware of how fortunate we are. When we started learning to ski I was aged 34 and kids 7, 5 and 3… (husband used to snowboard and knew how to ski) it was full on! I was genuinely perplexed about how this expensive holiday with moaning kids, carrying equipment, long transfers and queuing was meant to be fun. Not to mention my absolute fear of actually going down the mountain 🤣

We have done a combination of all inclusive / chalets / hotels. Our go to for years has been hotels. The kids had lessons as did I at the start. The kids have no fear, and I have all the fear, so it’s safe to say it wasn’t long before I was trying to keep up and quite frankly questioning whether I should just give up.

My patient husband had to learn to completely adapt his expectations on how much skiing he could do when you have kids in tow and a wife who likes to stop for hot drinks / cakes / and a proper lunch!!

I am so pleased I persevered, I’m not a natural skier, but I try my best to keep up and I’m now in complete awe of my (nearly) 3 teen boys enjoying the mountains like a giant playground. Those early years were completely worth it and it’s now our favourite family holiday. The fresh air, the views, time outside, the food, the family time 💜

So grateful for Pilates, which, without doubt helps support my body for the physical demands… just working out how we can keep pooch with us in the years to come 💜

Ok, so, I thought I would try and do one of those “2024” roundups and started going through my content… only to realise how much there would be to wade through, hence why I have very pressing storage issues and currently not being “backed up to iCloud” blah blah blah…

🎄 Christmas Eve fun - Enzo (and family) head to Battersea Power Station ☺️

Lots of Christmas trees to gently nudge him along from!! Our first visit, super dog friendly, we only came for a mooch around the shops and lunch. It blew the cobwebs away and got the kids out for a good few hours (minus eldest who is deep in A-level mock revision).

✨ Getting on the river boat added to the day! And yes, when there is no obvious lift, pooch gets carried on the escalator (much to his disapproval) 😁.

✨ Last week we used the long resistance band - such a wonderful way to tap into the lateral breathing we practice in Pilates. Start with wrapping the band around the torso (demonstrated at the start) inhale expanding the band the full diameter of your ribs, exhale loosening the tension in the band.

New York - October half term ✨

Thank you for all your wonderful recommendations, we had 6 FUN packed days and stayed on 5th Avenue close to the Empire State Building.

A few of you asked what we got up to in New York, we have 3 boys ages 17, 15 and 12…

As with any big city you might feel pressure to tick boxes and do / see everything. My favourite thing was to simply walk along amongst all the New Yorkers going about their day and just soaking it all in 😊

We walked a lot and hopped on and off the subway. Here are a few things that we did for ideas:

We loved walking through all the different areas, all such different vibes! We ate (and spent) our way round. Recommend Playa Bowls for breakfast! We were dragged to Target a few times for YouTuber sweets 😊

Not forgetting my wonderful meet up (Pilates & matcha) with @kso.yoga and a gorgeous visit to Queens to visit her and the AMAZING Raiwa 🥰🥰 Thanks for being so welcoming to us!
